Cabin Paint Shop Buffer
To optimally synchronise the paint shop scheduling with the Customer Orders, a logistics simulation study was conducted by Ergo-Design. A Siemens ‘Plant Simulation’ model of the DAF Cabin factory (Westerlo-Belgium) process was created and various ‘ smart solutions ‘ were weighed against each other. The influence of other hardware and priority rules was determined in this manner. Result: 15% less sequence disruptions and 8% less colour deviations. A significant reduction of costs and environmental impact! Process control of the paint shop has been greatly improved with the help of Logistic Simulation.
