Search tips
Each term may be preceded by the standard Boolean operators NOT,
AND, or OR. If you search for "consultancy NOT logistics", you'll
find all documents containing the word "consultancy" except
those documents which also contain the word "logistics".
If you type in "AND consultancy AND lay-out AND logistics", you'll
find only those documents which contain all three
search terms. The default value is OR. Thus, a search for "consultancy
lay-out logistics" would return pages with at least one of
the three terms.
Altavista's shorthand notation works too. A search on "consultancy
-logistics" is equivalent to the first example, and "+consultancy
+lay-out +logistics" will return the same documents as the second.
To group a collection of words, use quotes. For example, the query
"qualified consultants" (quotes included) would not generate a hit
from "our consultants are very qualified". Without quotes, the sentence
would count.
To perform a string search, preface your term with the dollar sign.
A query on "$proces" would find all words that include the string
"proces".
This search is based on scripts from Matt's Script Archive and Fluid
Dynamics.
