Modular robotcells in Shaver production
For the new NIVEA-FOR-MEN shavers at Philips - Drachten a body-assembly  line is implemented. This line has a high level of automation and is based on a standardized robot-cell.

Through the modular approach it is possible to connect transport and control of the robot-cells in such a way that a flexible line concept is created. Depending on the product configuration cells can be added, adapted or left out. So in the future different  line concepts can be realized with limited investments.

Philips has successfully applied the  robot-cell in several projects which resulted in a new modular standard of productionlines. In order to realise this concept Ergo-Design has defined the specification, managed the realisation phase and organised the acceptance tests.
