The Geesink Norba group started in 2004 in Emmeloord
(NL) to redesign their production processes. Two production
lines for the main construction parts 'Bodies' and 'Tailgates'
where to be realised.
For the 'Tailgate' fabrication process
Ergo-Design was asked to realise a new fabrication process
on short term. Starting from analysis, concept- and detailed
layout design to realisation and start-up. A takt driven
Flow Production Concept combined with Lean Manufacturing
Principles (elimination of 'waste') was the objective.
During the analysis and concept phase the
"Value Stream Mapping" (VSM) method is used together with
Geesink participants to come to an optimal concept. The
results of the VSM are directly 3D digital realised with
the Delmia Process Engineer software. This enables a good
view of the desired situation and allows feed back from
workers to enhance the design.
Realisation was done during 3 weeks in the summer period.
