3D Laserscanning: saving Time & Costs

The successful (re)design of a modern factory and its production processes requires collaboration of very diverse teams. Preliminary designs or the remodeling of existing plants will be done faster, with less risk and be more cost efficient through an accurate 3D-Model. The Virtual 3D-Factory will considerably enhance communication among planning teams and reassure efficiency and effectiveness of these teams.
Currently the 3D-As-Built-Analysis of factories is still performed with the most simple tools such as measuring tapes, Laser-Distance-Meters or time consuming total station measurements. Digitizing a complete factory is thus still extremely expensive, time consuming and prone to error.

Working with our 'state of the art' FARO 3D-Laserscanner LS880 HE80 enables accurate and high speed capturing 'as-built' situations and allows direct transformation of the real factory geometry to a digital 3D representation in a computer.

The realistic 3D-Geometry of your factory will be available to all members of the distributed planning teams worldwide. One master model for all participating planners will virtually eliminate any misunderstandings, reduce traveling and minimise labour intensive manual measurements. Collision Detection
Comprehensive 3D-Data is the basis for collision detection. Up to 2% costs relative to the factory investment may be gained through collision detection.

Change Management and Documentation
The presentation of Reality and Planning Data in one united 3D-Model allows comprehensive Change Management. The connection of time to the 3D-Data Acquisition as well as to the 3D-CAD-Planning (4D) will improve integration between teams and make tight controls possible. At the same time the digital 3D-fingerprint of the actual factory situation will eliminate all legal discussions - when were installations made and where.
